Fans of the horror genre can enjoy not only large titles on Steam, but also promising indie games. A new horror game feels like the perfect fusion of Resident Evil, science fiction, and samurai.
Which game is it? Samurai Unicorn is the debut work of the developer Its Got Stealth, and it presents itself in a polygon look that one would most likely associate with the PlayStation 1. This is also a good comparison when looking at the theme and gameplay.
The game feels like a promising mix of well-known horror titles. Fans of Resident Evil, Dead Space, or Onimusha should keep an eye on the game. Of course, Samurai Unicorn does not want to just be a copy of the classics. There is a gameplay twist that sets it apart from other genre representatives.

Sci-Fi Resident Evil with a Twist
What makes the game so promising? You play as Klo, the young detective who is possessed by a parasitic spirit that also gives her new abilities. With your new powers, you must protect the futuristic city of Sydney3 from the Dream Eaters.
In dark levels, you have to not only uncover secrets but also defend yourself against hideous monsters that visually mix elements from Resident Evil, Dead Space, and many robotic parts. You will use various weapons from a third-person perspective to fend off attackers.
In addition to ranged combat, your spiritual ghost parasite also offers you the ability to fight in close combat. A special feature is a parry function reminiscent of games like Sekiro or Onimusha. Onimusha itself announced a new installment after years of silence. The abilities of the ghost buddy are also expected to change over the course of the game.
The enemies in the game are also said to react to the respective shots and attacks. Like in Dead Space, you can injure enemies at their limbs to briefly incapacitate or weaken them.
In addition to exploring and fighting, the characters in the story will also have a focus. So far, there is no release date on Steam. However, you can already add it to your wish list. On the official YouTube channel, new videos about the game are regularly published.
Meanwhile, there are many small-scale horror games that can hold their own against the big titles. One of the best horror games of recent years even comes from Germany: You can currently get a German horror hit on Steam on sale – ‘The game is a masterpiece’
