The teaser for the new event in Overwatch contains some hints. These suggest possible new heroes that have not yet been announced. Some things are already known about them.
What hints are there? In the official teaser from Blizzard on Twitter for the upcoming Archives event “Sturmzeichen”, there is a brief recording. This was sent by a “Sojourn” to Strike Commander Morrison, also known as Soldier: 76.
The scene contains only a few sentences and actually revolves around the upcoming event, which was previously hinted at by a teaser from Blizzard. It involves Winston, Tracer, Mercy, and Genji. However, a name that is already known is also mentioned.
These heroes could be the possible hero 31
From the conversation and further information, three possible candidates emerge for the next hero 31 in Overwatch.
Candidate 1 – Sojourn: Little is known about Sojourn apart from her name and potential rank. Apparently, she used to be above Soldier: 76 in Overwatch and is likely around the same rank as Ana Amari.
Sojourn is mentioned for the first time in the teaser and has not appeared in the story before. This was also the case with the new hero Baptiste, which is why she remains a candidate. On reddit, she is already being speculated as the next hero.
Candidate 2 – Maximilien: Maximilien is only briefly mentioned in the short memo. According to Sojourn, he is responsible for Doomfist as an accountant, who has already been implemented into the game.
Unlike Sojourn, Maximilien has had several appearances in the story. He already appeared in the Doomfist comic “Maskerade”. The gentleman is an omnic in a suit, reminiscent of a darker version of Zenyatta.
Maximilien also had a brief appearance in the background story of Moira. Here, he sat at the table with Doomfist, Reaper, Moira, and an unknown Talon employee. He also seems to hold a somewhat higher position.
Candidate 3 – Echo: Echo is not mentioned in the teaser for Sturmzeichen. However, it is already clear that she will appear. During BlizzCon 2018, Jeff Kaplan stated that six new heroes will be released.
One of them will be Echo, who also appeared in the introduction video of Ashe. However, we do not yet know if she will come directly as the next hero 31.
