The hardcore MMORPG Valorbound will build on a PvPvE principle. You will primarily play with and against other players, and either gain a lot or lose everything. We at MeinMMO will explain how this works here.
What is Valorbound? The game comes from the indie developer Team Scionica, who have already released an RPG in Minecraft called Fearun Heroes. In Valorbound, you will become a real adventurer. The PvP and survival aspect of the game is to be in the foreground.
These features are promised by the developer:
- Open world with PvPvE systematics
- Various races
- 27 unique classes, of which you can always combine two at the same time, leading to over 300 class combinations
- An advanced health system – You should not just “gulp down healing potions” until everything is well again, but take care of wounds, bleeding, and broken bones
- No better stats through leveling – The stats of your character depend only on your equipment. Players should be equal, whether they have played 100 or 1000 hours
- Full-loot PvP – If you kill a player, you can take everything they carry. The developers promise to ensure a particularly fair system
- Despite the hardcore label, there should be no further survival elements. You do not need to keep track of thirst, arrow supplies, or similar
Why is this exciting? Already when reading the features, it’s clear: Valorbound will be a niche game, but the potential to cover its niche is definitely there. It strongly targets PvP-oriented players who love to take risks to gain a lot.
While you can also fight bosses together, it will and should even end with a scramble for the loot. But even if you win, sometimes you won’t come away unscathed. For example, you will have to deal with a broken bone, which will restrict you for longer than a bleeding would.
Also exciting is the approach of horizontal progression. Players gain no advantages through leveling up. Your complete strength comes from your equipment, which is not supposed to be randomly generated. You can specifically hunt the items you need for your build.
When can you play Valorbound?
When will Valorbound be released? The game is being developed by a very small team and is still in a very, very early state. We also do not know on which platforms the game will be released or what the exact payment model looks like.
The developer has announced a “low entry price” and is talking about some kind of season pass (via MassivelyOP).
Even with a very positive development, a release in the foreseeable future is unfortunately unlikely.
What does the timeline look like? So far, there is little information regarding a timeline or even a specific date. It is certain that there will definitely be playtests.
