Currently, the fifth season of the Living World is running in Guild Wars 2. So far, only the prologue has been released. The first episode of the Icebrood Saga has now been officially announced – and it is said to be very dark.
What do we know about the episode? In a livestream for the charity event Extra Life, the name of the first episode of the Icebrood Saga was announced. It is called “Whispers in the Dark”.
According to the developers in the stream, it is supposed to be very dark and inspired by the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. This is immediately evident from the name of the episode, which is reminiscent of the short story “The Whisperer in Darkness“. In it, the protagonist encounters mysterious creatures and dark figures.
There was also a short teaser on Twitter, which hinted at the “Boneskinner” that is supposed to appear in the episode. This is a mysterious creature that already made an appearance in the announcement of the Icebrood Saga and fits perfectly into the dark story.

When will the episode be released? “Whispers in the Dark” is set to be released on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. New episodes typically come out at 6:00 PM.
There will likely be a trailer one week prior that will reveal more about the contents of the episode and show initial images.

What happened in the prologue to the Icebrood Saga? The prologue, which was released in September 2019, introduced us to the new story and also to a new enemy.
The leader of the Blood Legion, Bangar the Butcher, stole the magically enchanted bow of our Norn friend Braham at a Charr festival.
With this bow, Bangar set out to hunt the Elder Dragon Jormag, whom he wants to enslave. With the help of the Elder Dragon and a large army of Charr, he aims to defeat us and the dragon Aurene, and elevate the Charr to great power. A supporter in this effort is also the son of our Charr friend Rytlock Brimstone.
