In Destiny 2, the Stasis aspect “Shadebinder” has suddenly been disabled. MeinMMO reveals how the Stasis Warlock threatened the balance of the whole game and why Bungie took action.
Do you want to freeze some enemies with your Stasis Warlocks and wonder why not all abilities are available anymore? Bungie had to disable an aspect because it completely broke the game balance.
This ability is disabled: Shadebinders currently have to forgo the “Shadebinder” aspect. When you log in, the ability is grayed out, and you cannot equip or use it.
- This is the newly added Stasis turret that just came in the current Season 13.
- With it, Warlocks could turn their grenade into a turret that then automatically shot enemies with Stasis.
- Most Warlocks frequently use the Stasis skill in PvE and many also in PvP. Enemies are distracted and completely frozen after a few seconds, which in combination with other abilities makes the Stasis Warlock truly powerful.
On MeinMMO, you quickly noticed that the popular skill is suddenly disabled without any prior notice.
One of our readers, MikeScader, wrote: “I just noticed that the Stasis turret from the Warlock is disabled. However, I hadn’t read anything about it being planned. Does anyone have more information on this?” (via MeinMMO). Later, MikeScader found Bungie’s response to that.
What does Bungie say about it? Through Bungie’s official Twitter account, Bungie Help, it was stated on the evening of May 1 that “Shadebinder” was disabled due to a bug.
Infinite Stasis Super Destroys Balance of Destiny 2
Here’s what happened: On the morning of May 1, a new glitch made the rounds: through the Stasis turret, players could trick themselves into having an infinite long Stasis super. It was not even difficult and worked in every game mode.
A Shadebinder Warlock that can infinitely freeze everything on a large scale and make it explode is simply game-breaking. The spreaders of the glitch knew this and predicted that Bungie would have to cancel the Trials again (via YouTube).
Bungie, however, decided against canceling the PvP endgame for the third time in just one season. Instead, the Warlock skill necessary for the glitch was completely disabled.
Currently, the competition Guardian Games 2021 is running, and one does not only gain a significant advantage in the Trials through infinitely long supers, so the decision to tackle the problem directly is probably logical. It is still annoying, and Warlocks have now lost a beloved and powerful tool that is no longer available to honest players.
How long will the fix take? When Bungie will re-enable the skill and fix the glitch is currently unknown. The last official message from Bungie coincided with the deactivation message (via Twitter). It only states “updates will be provided when they are available.”
When the popular exotic Graviton Lance was disabled by Bungie due to a bug at the end of 2020, it took a week for the solution to arrive. Whether it will go as quickly this time remains speculation.
