In Destiny 2 you can now quickly get the good weapons and armor from the Broken Throne. You just need to trick a bit with the Bounties.
What is this loot trick? Players discovered a glitch in Season 13 of Destiny 2 that grants you daily equipment from the Dungeon Broken Throne . The great thing is, you don’t have to play through the dungeon for this, and the trick works perfectly solo.
MeinMMO explains here how to use Bounties to your advantage and quickly obtain exclusive weapons and armor from the dungeon.
This is how it works: The short version: Get Bounties for “Dreaming City” gear, complete the small tasks, and open the Bounty in the dungeon. This way, the reward transforms into equipment from the Broken Throne.
A bit more detailed: Visit Petra Venj in the Dreaming City. The NPC of the region offers items, resources, and Bounties. Of interest to you are the Bounties that list Legendary gear as rewards. You then complete these Bounties normally, but do not redeem them.
These are the two Bounties:
- “Ascendant Challenge”: You can accept and complete this Bounty once a week. Where to find Petra every week and which Ascendant Challenge needs to be mastered can always be found in the Weekly Reset on MeinMMO.
- “Challenge: Secret Secrets”: You can accept this task daily and get new loot every new Destiny day (current Daily Reset is 7 PM) fresh loot. Loot from the Broken Throne without playing through the dungeon
Both Bounties can be completed in one go. Remember that you need to drink a Queen’s Leaf Tincture for many of the actions. All tasks and also the Ascendant Challenge can be completed solo in just a few minutes.

The glitch now is that the legendary gear from the Bounties is seen by the game as a drop from the dungeon. So you don’t have to fight your way through the challenging mini-raid. Our reader Millerntorian pointed out that you should do this best without a checkpoint in the throne, as otherwise the glitch does not work properly. Before you redeem the Bounties, delete the checkpoint before approaching the dungeon.
The game has been criticized for relying too much on these Bounties and offering players little motivation with creative tasks. Some joke that Destiny 2 might as well carry the subtitle “Bounty Simulator”. Bungie has been actively addressing this criticism since Season 13.

Why should I do this? Because the Bounties redeemed in the dungeon count as loot from the Broken Throne. This means that the armors obtained this way have better stats – close to 60 or higher. The weapons from the dungeon have perks that cannot roll on the regular versions and are exclusive to the Broken Throne. In the case of the rocket launcher, for example, it is “Vorpal Weapon“, which automatically gives you 15% more damage against bosses.
The “fresh” dungeon loot was introduced with Season 13 and is intended to give the popular dungeons more relevance. So you can get good armor and otherwise hard-to-obtain weapons in a very short time, up to 3 times a day.

- Awakening Watcher (140 Arc Hand Cannon)
- Sleepless (15 Arc Rocket Launcher)
- Grant (200 Void Scout Rifle)
- Told Story (65 Void Shotgun)
- Dreaming Dawn (armor set for Warlock, Hunter, and Titan)
