For the opening night event of the gamescom 2020, Bungie announced new details about the upcoming major autumn expansion Beyond Light for Destiny 2. There was a new trailer for the dark element Stasis, which will be introduced with Beyond Light. However, there wasn’t much new to see.
This is what Bungie has shown: Some time ago, Bungie introduced the new dark element Stasis. Now, during the opening night at gamescom 2020, there was a new trailer showcasing the icy abilities.
However, there wasn’t much new to see there either. While the new abilities are shown a bit longer in action than in the old clip, there aren’t as many new details as some might have hoped for.
- For example, the Warlock can freeze and shatter his opponents (including Guardians).
- The Hunter brings the storm and leaves behind whirlwinds that apparently deal area damage, can throw an ice grenade that creates an icy sphere, and use ice shards as projectiles.
- The Titan can crash down on his enemies like an avalanche, cause ice shards to rise from the ground, and crush his opponents.
- The names of the new classes are now known. The Warlock’s name is Shadebinder, the Hunter’s is Revenant, and the Titan’s is Behemoth.
For those hoping for a glimpse of the new skill trees or explanations of the new abilities, patience is still needed. What was really exciting, however, was that at first glance, Stasis could potentially shake up PvP battles in the Crucible. Ultimately, however, it cannot yet be judged. But see for yourself.
