Developer Bioware has revealed new gameplay of Anthem in a live stream. This included a first impression of the Super Attacks.
What was shown? In the video, we get a glimpse of normal gameplay from the Alpha of Anthem. A side mission is shown where the goal is to locate a specific person.
The team traverses a part of the game world as a four-player squad. We follow the Storm Javelin, which represents a kind of ranged fighter with magical abilities due to its elemental attacks.

Gameplay shows Super Attacks
During the mission, the Super Attacks of the Interceptor and the Colossus were shown.
This is how the shown Super Attacks work:
- The Colossus fires rockets that cause massive explosions. It also carries a shield that can be used as a battering ram even while flying.
- The Super Attack of the Interceptor is a kind of temporary mode in which this one can endure more and uses its dual blades for strong and quick attack combos.
Recently, we learned that there will be melee builds for the Interceptor.
These abilities are activated (played with a controller) using the D-Pad’s Up direction.

This is how players react to the new gameplay scenes: In the Subreddit for Anthem, the vibe after the live stream is mixed:
- some are grateful for any form of gameplay …
- … and many show understanding that little is being shown.
- Others criticize the scope of the scenes …
- … and that hardly any questions from the community are addressed.
- Most find that it looks quite good for an alpha build.
However, it won’t be long until the next gameplay, as the next live stream has already been announced.
