Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is a successor to the Budokai-Tenkaichi series and accordingly a classic beat ’em up. However, there is to be another video game in the Dragon Ball universe that is supposed to be similar to League of Legends.
What kind of game is this? Bandai Namco announced Dragon Ball Project: Multi. The title is the franchise’s first team-oriented 4-vs-4 fighting game. Players face each other in an arena where they must be the first team to grab the opponent’s Dragon Ball.
The first trailer shows that the game will be a MOBA like LoL. We control the characters from a top-down perspective and must act strategically and take specific routes.
The following characters are included:
- Son-Goku
- Vegeta
- Piccolo
- Krillin
- Future Trunks
- C18
- Majin Boo
- Zamasu
Each hero has their own role. Some play aggressively and deal damage, while others act as tanks or supporters on the field. Each character has their own skins, animations, finishers, and much more.
The MOBA is set to be released for PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. A release date has not yet been announced. Additionally, players in Germany are one of only 8 countries with the chance to test the title in advance.

What about the beta? Unfortunately, it is not possible to test the beta for Steam in Germany. Instead, you can only download the game on mobile platforms. Currently, there is no option to register in advance for mobile devices. This feature is expected to be activated on the official page in the coming days.
Players in Germany have the opportunity to get a taste of the beta during the following period:
- August 20, 04:00 to September 3, 3:59
Progress cannot be carried over to the final game. Additionally, there will be no microtransactions in the beta. We will only see how it behaves with Pay2Win and prices for cosmetic items with the final version of the game.
This sets the MOBA apart from Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. The game will be released on October 11, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players will be able to choose their fighter from 164 characters. A special feature will be that the battle arenas can be destroyed.
However, the controls of the beat ’em up are already causing concern among players. It will be possible to select the classic controls. This could result in players getting blisters on their hands and their controllers breaking faster: “I buy 300 controllers”: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is causing players great headaches with a mechanic
