What is The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria about? On behalf of Lord Gimpli Lockbearer, a group of dwarves, controlled by players, sets out to the Misty Mountains.
In the mines of Moria, also known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf, the group is supposed to seek out and reclaim the lost treasures of the dwarves. By the way, in the movie The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, the group was also in the mines of Moria.

What does gameplay in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria look like? In Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, it’s all about survival deep within the mines.
You need to take care of enough resources: This includes gathering and hunting for food. But you should also ensure enough sleep while keeping an eye on the temperature or the noise level of the group.
You can mine the resources in the mines, such as iron, gold, and quartz, to acquire better equipment and items. This includes:
- Armor
- Weapons
- and Structures
But be careful: Mining the materials generates noise and could awaken dangerous beings inside the tunnels and draw the attention of orcs towards you. You will face dangers on your journey and must prove yourself in combat.
Using light systems, the group can slowly make its way to the heart of the mine. You can also construct bases and rebuild landmarks in Moria that will help you survive in the depths.
Is there multiplayer in Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria? You can explore the mines of Moria either alone or online with other players. It’s a matter of discovering the secrets of three mountains.
Up to 8 players can play together. You can customize your dwarf in the character editor and equip them with found or self-crafted armor to match their individual playstyle.
When will Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria be released? The release of the game is announced for Spring 2023. A specific date is not yet known.
