A manufacturer has a gadget on offer that allows you to triple your laptop’s workspace. It looks crazy but works surprisingly well. A well-known tech YouTuber tested it. MeinMMO explains what it’s all about and whether such a thing is worthwhile.
While laptops are very portable, they have one disadvantage: the workspace is limited, as laptop displays are often no larger than 17 inches. You can connect an additional monitor, but you would have to carry this along all the time.
A manufacturer has an alternative on offer that allows you to quite simply triple your workspace. However, the price is not insignificant.

What kind of device is this? The gadget presented is a plug-on display from Kwumsy/Ofiyaa.
You mount it on the back of your notebook and then connect it to your device in the next step. Ideally, this is done through a USB-C port. After that, you still need to navigate through the Windows system settings and activate the display units.

Who is testing this? Linus Sebastian regularly tests exciting and sometimes absurd hardware with his network. In his latest video, he has now tried the special accessory for laptops.

What is the reaction? The additional monitors literally drain your battery. Linus and his colleague Adam explain that in the test with a 17-inch laptop, several hours of battery life are lost. If you want to use the monitor system on the go, that’s the price for modularity.
There is also criticism of the packaging. Although you can elegantly fold the device from the monitors together, the displays point outward. In the most frustrating case, you could scratch the technology when you’re on the move.
- The monitors are very stiff and can hardly be moved. If you are very unhappy with the sight angles, you cannot really change them on the current model.
- The monitors are supposedly supposed to provide a brightness of 220 cd/m². However, Linus considers that to be ‘very optimistic.’
Presumably, the gadget is only worthwhile for you if you are looking for a second monitor for your setup.
After all, the price of 600 US dollars (around 570 Euros) is quite high. For that money, you can now get two good mid-range monitors that you can also connect to your laptop – but without the comfortable design and requiring significantly more space.
