The cozy MMO Palia by Singularity Six is entering closed beta. The game is now available for a limited number of players. How you can join the beta, what the game is about, when the release is, and the reactions to it, you can find out on MeinMMO.
How do I participate in the closed beta? Starting this week, the eagerly awaited cozy MMO Palia invites players to the closed beta. Currently, the beta is available for a limited number of players and only on PC for now.
Invitations to the closed beta are conducted randomly. To have a chance at the closed beta, simply create an account on the Palia website and sign up for the beta (via palia.com).
Alpha testers are lucky. They automatically receive an invitation to the closed beta and can start gameplay directly. If you sign up before October 31, you will receive a unique in-game item during the open beta: the “Kilima Founders Windmill.”
- Closed Beta: August 2 to August 10
- Open Beta: From August 10
Singularity Six is sending out several waves of invitations to bring more players into the cozy world of Palia. Those who do not receive an invitation can look forward to the open beta. Starting August 10, any player with a Palia account can dive into the feel-good world. The progress made during the beta can be transferred to the final game later.
A short glimpse into the game can be found in the video:
When is the release? Currently, the free-to-play MMO Palia for PC does not have a fixed release date yet. The game, inspired by Animal Crossing, is expected to be released for the Nintendo Switch in Winter 2023.
Cozy MMO with Animal Crossing Flair
Who is Palia interesting for? If you are looking for cozy and social gameplay, then Palia is likely the right MMO for you. Palia offers relaxed and unhurried gameplay, allowing you to take your time. Palia caters especially to players who enjoy immersing themselves in a calm virtual world and want to enjoy social interactions – instead of focusing on hectic battles and quests.
It offers a variety of activities and opportunities to form friendships with NPCs and other players. The emphasis is on everyday activities and social interactions. You can experience the enchanting world at your own pace and shape its story.
Many of these social and cozy aspects immediately remind one of Animal Crossing. So, if you enjoy Animal Crossing, it’s worth taking a look at the world of Palia.
- These activities entice you into the feel-good cosmos of Palia:
- Fishing
- Cooking
- Gardening
- Mining
- Crafting
- Farming

What are the reactions like? The community’s reactions to Palia are somewhat mixed. Some players wish for more options for skin colors, body types, colors, and hairstyles in character creation.
Rebecca-is-choom wrote on Reddit (via reddit.com): “Why is there no option for pale skin? I love making my character super pale and red-haired. Please add more skin tones.”
Lisertan uploaded extensive feedback on Reddit, including the following opinion (via reddit.com): “The NPCs are fun, and I enjoyed getting to know them (something I thought I would hate, but it’s fun).”
Some users are commenting on the pricing of the free-to-play MMO. RuhbarbOtherwise1391 wrote on Reddit (via reddit.com): “Pricing in the cash shop. I understand this is a free game, and the studio has to make money somehow. 30 dollars for an outfit? I fear people won’t buy it.”
The community’s opinions are divided. What the developers will implement in the end, we will see at the latest by the release.
