On July 20th, Diablo Immortal received a major update with many new features. One of them is the class change, which allows you to easily try out other classes. However, there is a lot of criticism about this, as not everything about the character is retained.
What is this feature? The new update 1.5.2 for Diablo Immortal has introduced the class change as a new feature. It serves to try a new class at your level without having to play a second character:
- You choose a new class and keep your level, Paragon, and clan affiliation.
- You can fully customize the character during the first change.
- Additionally, you receive a starter set that corresponds to the level of your current equipment.
However, during the change, you will be warned that certain cosmetic items will not be retained. This is currently causing negative comments.
You can find all the information about the class change in our special here. In the video, we show you how exactly the class change works:
This is why players are complaining: In the subreddit of Diablo Immortal, messages from players are appearing more frequently since the update, complaining about the disappearing skins. Almost everything about cosmetics is affected – even if you have paid for them.
The description of the class change in the game warns that “class-bound cosmetics” will be lost, but it is not specified more precisely. In a larger thread on reddit, the user Z_Zircon writes:
All cosmetics I paid for that should not be class-bound (they even appear with the appropriate armor in the preview in my inventory), are not available for use with my new class. Not even the ones from the Battle Pass. […]
Terrible. 20-30 bucks basically wasted unless I play wizard for the rest of my playtime – which won’t be that long.
Even if he plays through the current Battle Pass from Season 2 and gets the new Bloodsworn skin, it only applies to his current class – not to one after the change.
The post and several others receive a lot of support, and many users agree that this design is simply awful and “incredible”. Some still hope that it is just an overlooked mistake, but most criticize that such a thing is even possible.
Class change does not carry over “class-bound skins”
Is this intentional? In fact, the class change is designed so that all class-bound skins are not available. However, when you switch back to your old class, you will get everything back.
However, since many skins in Diablo Immortal come in a bundle that looks different for each character but is at least available for all, the decision is not understandable for many fans.
How is the update received otherwise? Besides the class change, the focus on group content for troops is the biggest point of criticism. Fans agree that hardly anyone uses troops – corresponding tasks should be expanded to clans.
Otherwise, the update is receiving very positive feedback. The change to the Pay2Win factor is particularly well received, as legendary emblems are now significantly easier for Free2Play players to obtain.
You need the emblems to get legendary gems for free. The gems are an important factor for the strength of your character. We will show you how they work and where to get them in the video:
Through events and new rewards, the emblems can now be earned significantly more frequently each month without spending money on them. A particularly exciting change for casual players is an update to the Elder Portals. Because now you can reliably get better gems in them – and more of them on top:
