Rainbow Six Siege is getting some changes with the upcoming Season 3. One of them concerns scopes – weapon attachments that can potentially improve your aiming abilities. A short clip from a longer video gives you insight into the adjustments of the scopes and shows how to use them correctly.
What does the clip show? In just 46 seconds, the YouTuber coreRoss shows all the magnifications that are available for most weapons in Rainbow Six Siege. Specifically, these are:
- 1.0x
- 1.5x
- 2.0x
- 2.5x
- and 3.0x
This covers all standard scopes that you can equip on your weapons in the upcoming Season 3 of Year 5 in Rainbow Six. Only special weapons like Glaz’s sniper rifles (4.0x) and Kali’s (5.0x and 12.0x) are not included. We have embedded the clip here for you:
What does this do for me? The short clip shows you exactly how your field of view changes when you use a certain magnification. The numbers for the magnifications themselves are often rather cryptic and don’t give a good picture of what it actually looks like.
With the direct comparison, you can better decide in which situation you want to or should use which scope attachment. This way, you can better assess how to improve in certain situations.

What else is changing in Season 3: The upcoming season will significantly shake up Rainbow Six. In addition to the new scopes, settings, and the tracker, features like:

- the “Mini Breach Charges” that could change the entire game
- the overhaul of the Chalet map
- numerous bug fixes that players have been waiting for in some cases for 5 years
- a new feature allowing defenders to share a pool of wall reinforcements
