Fallout 76 has received a new content patch with a small update and without maintenance. This time, you can explore a completely new area.
What is this update about? Today, on April 16, 2019, a new update for Fallout 76 started around 6:20 PM. This brings new content from the “Wild Appalachia” update.
The new patch did not require maintenance. So you can just log in and play.
Fallout 76 Update from April 16, 2019
The new feature of this update is the new dungeon “The Caves”, which may represent an entire underground city. “The Caves” are the first underground dungeon of Fallout 76.
What kind of caves are these? The caves were originally constructed as a drainage system underneath Harpers Ferry in the eastern part of the map. After the bombs fell, they also served as a refuge for people from new dangers.
Over time, the caves developed into a friendly, helpful community. However, something went wrong, and a scout team from the Steel Brotherhood lost their lives while investigating the problem.
What can you find in the caves? In the caves, you can complete a quest once or repeat the dungeon multiple times to get more loot. The caves are designed for two players in co-op or for very well-equipped solo players. The dungeon is not yet instanced. The technology is supposed to come in the future.
How do I get into the caves? If you want to explore the caves yourself, you can do so starting now. The entrances to the dungeon are located near the armory and at Highway 65. You can access the caves through manhole covers.
You can view the exact locations and what the manhole covers look like in our gallery.
What’s next: The camera feature originally planned for this patch has been postponed to a later date and is expected to be released on April 23. Player shops, that some fans are already running, will be available on May 7.
Other players are passing the time in questionable ways:
