In Destiny 2, many of the new Exotics for Witch Queen were presented in the last TWaB. One Hunter gauntlet stood out in particular. This could soon make the Hunter competitive against the Warlocks, who are already considered the best support class. We will show you the Exo.
What kind of Exo is this? The Exo refers to the new gauntlets “Renewal Grips”. This piece of armor grants a larger effect radius of the Stasis class’s Shatter Grenade. With it, you can cover a larger area and keep more enemies in the icy storm.
On top of that, the grenade weakens enemies in their damage output when they are within the effect radius. This allows enemies to be strategically weakened and frozen. However, if your fireteam needs some damage resistance, Guardians can enter the Ice Dome. This will result in your fireteam taking less damage.
Hunters will become competitive against Warlocks
If the new Exotic can prove itself and also impress in endgame content as a lifesaver, it might even become a real competitor to the support abilities of Warlocks.
The Hunter was mainly responsible for generating Light Orbs and making himself invisible in stealth passages. Due to a nerf that the Hunter will receive, one of the most important support roles will be taken from him. However, this Exo could ensure, with its intrinsic perk, that the Hunter can throw compact Titan bubbles that protect you.
With this Exo, Hunters will have greater area control and can therefore dictate the flow of battle. While the Well is stationary and takes a long time to be reused, grenades can be used more often. For that, you just need the right mods and armor.
What does the Exo look like? The arms are made of leather with metal components that protect the arm. You can also see symbols from Braytech and the Black Armory. In the lore description, it could be envisioned as a collaboration between both parties that forged new weapons and equipment. The arms might have been the first prototype.
Where could it be used? Since it is not yet known how significant the damage debuff and the gained resilience will be, it is difficult to estimate whether the Grips are also worth it for endgame.
However, it could be anticipated that in the PvP mode “Control” it might become very annoying. Players who place such a grenade on the zones can thereby dominate the flow of battle. We will have to wait and see how Bungie has adjusted this armor.
