With Summer Heat, a previously unknown event starts in FIFA 20. It’s finally here – bringing along lots of old and new cards.
When does Summer Heat start? Summer Heat started on Wednesday, June 17, at 19:00. A clear end date is not yet known, but it will likely keep us occupied for several weeks.
Some content runs until July 3, others until July 12 – at least that long Summer Heat should play a role.
Summer Heat essentially offers a Best of FUT 20
What’s included in Summer Heat: Summer Heat has a whole range of content to offer. First up will be the so-called “Summer Heat Voting”.
On different days of the event, there will be a player vote available for 24 hours. Here, FIFA players can choose from three different loan FUT cards that have developed into fan favorites throughout the season.
The card that gets chosen the most by players will receive an improved Summer Heat version, which can then be obtained through a Squad Building Challenge.
Even more SBCs: In addition to the voting, there will also be the so-called “Summer Showdown”. Every week, a football match from the real world will be highlighted. One player from each team will receive a special SBC that you can complete.
The kicker: The player from the winning team will receive an upgrade of three overall points, while in case of a tie, both players will receive one point.
Fan favorites return in packs, SBCs, and objectives
Top cards are back: Throughout Summer Heat, some of the best event cards that have been available in FIFA 20 will return in packs. There will be three different “drops” throughout the event, with the first one running from June 17 to July 3. Among others, some strong Headliners, Shapeshifters, and TOTW cards from the past months will be included.
Additionally, some fan favorites will reappear as SBCs and weekly objectives. These will also have improved stats and can partly be upgraded in the Future Stars style.
An example: This version of Real Madrid’s Mendy, who has been among the most popular cards in the game from the start and can now simply be earned through weekly objectives:
Free packs and strong Weekend League rewards
What else is there: Depending on how many days you have logged into Ultimate Team since the start, you can secure free packs. In the first round, these are:
- Jumbo Premium Gold Pack (9-60 days)
- Prime Gold Players Pack (61-147 days)
- Rare Mega Pack (148-234 days)
- Ultimate Pack (235+ days)
A second round will take place between June 28 and July 12.
This is what the Weekend League rewards look like: After the TOTSSF was recently included in the Weekend League rewards, making them really strong, Summer Heat now follows up. The Player Picks in the Weekend League will consist of strong player cards from past events, including the various TOTSSF.
- Silver 2 and 3 will receive cards with a rating up to 88.
- From Silver 1, there is no upper limit; rewards will have at least an 83 overall value.
- From Gold 2, at least one Player Pick with a rating of 90 will be available.
- Elite 1 to 3 will receive a “Best Of” 3-player pack, with 3 players having at least a rating of 90.
- The Top 100 will receive a “Best Of” 11-player pack, also with a minimum rating of 90.
However, there was lately trouble with the Top 100 in the Weekend League. A professional had revealed how another FIFA player prevented losses by quitting.
