In Pokémon GO the very effective week has started. This event brings new spawns, bonuses, and for the first time also Shiny Tentacool. We provide you with an overview.
How long does the event last? The very effective week lives up to its name and lasts exactly 7 days. On November 26 at 10 PM, the bonuses will end.
During the week, you can chase special spawns and challenge special raid bosses.
Everything you need to know about the very effective week
What are the bonuses? You will primarily be rewarded for battles. The benefits include:
- Double Stardust from Trainer Battles
- More potions and revives from PokéStops
- A guaranteed Charged TM from Level 3 raids
- Special spawns, raids, and quests centered around effective Pokémon against Team GO Rocket and other trainers
What new Shinies are there? There are no surprises here. Only Shiny Tentacool is new in the game, but this was already announced in advance. No other new Shinies are available.

These new quests are available: Only one field research has been added to the event. It is as follows:
- Use a very effective Charged Attack in a Gym Battle
- Reward: Encounter with a Tentacool
Which Pokémon are more common? 8 spawns are more common in the wild. They include:
- Machop* (Pokémon marked with a star may be Shiny)
- Corphish*
- Rhyhorn
- Snorunt*
- Teddiursa
- Tentacool*
- Torchic*
- Gastly*
The majority of the spawns consist of Rhyhorn, Corphish, Teddiursa, and Torchic.
For shiny hunters, Tentacool is particularly interesting. Other rarer Shinies are Gastly and Machop. Many players may already have enough Shinies of Torchic and Snorunt due to a Community Day.
Anyone still looking for strong Pokémon should mainly hunt Machop, Gastly, Rhyhorn, and Snorunt. Their evolutions are very good in battles.
What about the raid bosses? A lot has changed here, and especially the 3-star raids are full of Pokémon. A detailed list of the monsters can be found in our overview of the raid bosses.
Have you heard about the reduced raid rewards?
