In Pokémon GO, the gift event is currently active. But this also brings frustration to trainers who now have to spend a lot of time unpacking the colorful boxes.
What kind of event is this? On Monday, August 5th, the Gift Event in Pokémon GO started. This is meant to further strengthen the friendships between trainers.
What are the bonuses? Niantic came up with some ideas for the bonuses to make the gifts that you can send to your friends in the game more interesting:
- All eggs from gifts will hatch after 2 kilometers in the incubator but can contain all Pokémon from the 7-KM eggs
- During the event, you can open 30 gifts per day
- You can also store 20 gifts in your bag
- The new shiny Mobai is now in the game and can be hatched

What is the problem? At first glance, the new bonuses look good. There are more gifts and cool Pokémon that can now be hatched even faster. So why the frustration?
Trainers can open more gifts per day than before. But opening the gifts has always been a thorn in the side of many players. Because it is time consuming.
Although the gifts are important, as they increase the friends level and you receive items like Poké Balls from them.
Each gift has to be opened individually. There is no “Open all gifts” button. So you need to invest several seconds for each gift to complete the opening and collecting of items. At first glance, this sounds like a luxury problem.
But with 30 gifts in a row, that adds up to a few minutes spent mindlessly opening gifts.
Because you can currently receive even more gifts per day, some trainers are frustrated.
What players demand: On Reddit , players again suggest “There should be a button to open all gifts at once”.
The player Twoninjas2015 writes that opening gifts currently consumes too much time during which one cannot play. This is a problem for trainers with little time.
