The community of Genshin Impact is wondering if they have found a hint from the developers. It is said to be a new, upcoming element. What lies behind it will be revealed to you by MeinMMO.
How does the community come to this conclusion? Players can currently participate in the event “Ritual of Sacrifice of the Three Worlds”. The event takes place in the new area Enkanomiya, which made its way into Genshin Impact with patch 2.4.
During the event, you explore Enkanomiya and collect the currency “Seals of the Light World” to then use it as levelling material for your “Bokuso Box”.
These seals of the light world look just like the previous collectible seals from other regions of the world Teyvat. The previous collectible seals correspond to elements that playable characters can possess and that the Traveler can assume as an element in the respective regions.
“Is miHoYo hinting at something? Perhaps a new element?”
What do the fans say? In a reddit thread by BluwulfX, things are getting intense. The thread has already gathered 11,500 upvotes and opinions on the new seal of the light world are widely divided.
The thread is titled “Light Seal: Is miHoYo hinting at something? Perhaps a new element?” Furthermore, all four seals were placed side by side to show that the new seal is designed just like the other elemental seals.

- _sachura reminds us: ‘We haven’t even had Dendro in the game yet, lol.’
- Mojambo213 approaches it factually: ‘Given the fact that I believe they have a plan for 12 years, it is not impossible that new elements will be added to the game after Dendro, even if it isn’t very soon. Light or “Holy” based would be great, plus I hope for a Darkness/Shadow element type.’
- MerylasFalguard thinks: ‘But once we get Dendro, they will need a new, unobtainable element to keep us on our toes. It seems like the perfect time to tease us about light and abyss elements.’
- MadMareek points to the game’s intro: ‘If you go back to the opening of the game: Could it be that the light element is the Traveler’s actual power?’
Some also mention characters like Dansleif, who possesses abilities like “Abyss Fire”. They say it is almost confirmed that “Abyss” or “Void” will be an additional element. Additionally, Dansleif mentions a “power from the beyond,” which fans associate with the possibility of a new element.
Furthermore, some speculate that the Traveler will have a special element like “Star” or “Light,” as he awakened in the region Khaenri’ah before arriving in Teyvat. This region has no god and is not under the watch of “The Seven”.
It is uncertain whether light and even darkness may eventually be added as elements to Genshin Impact, but it is not impossible. First, the plant element Dendro must be released. This has been the talk of the town since the game’s release and is expected to finally make its way into the game starting with patches 3.X.
