For over a year, there has been a persistent conflict concerning the Twitch streamer Shurjoka. Last weekend, new developments occurred – MeinMMO gives you an overview of the current events.
During the weekend of September 20 to 22, events unfolded rapidly in the ongoing conflict between the Twitch streamer Shurjoka and an ever-growing group of German content creators.

September 20, 2024
Shurjoka streams for 9 1/2 hours, criticizes Gronkh and Carina Pusch
On Friday, Shurjoka held a longer stream in which she expressed criticism of various content creators on Twitch and YouTube. The VoD is no longer available on her channel. However, clips from the stream have since circulated on X, particularly about Gronkh and the streamer Carina Pusch.
- Shurjoka accused Gronkh of making fun of allegations made by her that he was behaving misogynistically. By doing so, he trivialized the suffering of women who are victims of harassment and misogyny (via X).
- The Twitch streamer also addressed that Carina Pusch, with whom she was privately friends, would provide a platform for influencers who would act as perpetrators towards her – Shurjoka. Their behavior would thus be normalized (via X).
Who is Carina Pusch?
Carina Pusch is an influencer known for her content on art and body painting. She has also become involved in psychological and political topics. She was also friends with Shurjoka.
The influencer was involved in a legal dispute with the controversial YouTuber ApoRed for over 2 ½ years, who had sexually harassed her. In December 2023, she was granted justice by the Cologne Regional Court after a long battle (via YouTube). At the time, Pusch was subjected to hostility from the creator community that sided with ApoRed.
Later, she accused the fallen Twitch streamer Unge of giving ApoRed a platform and thus attempting to gaslight her, making her feel insecure (via YouTube). Shurjoka now accuses Pusch of behaving in her case as Unge had done with her at the time.
Carina Pusch talks about covert narcissism
The streamer Carina Pusch reacted live on Twitch to a video on the topic of “Covert Narcissism.” Carina Pusch stated that she grew up as the child of a narcissistic mother and discusses psychological and political issues in her content.
In her reaction, Carina Pusch emphasized that these narcissistic traits can be observed in the German influencer scene. Some of her statements can be interpreted as jabs at Shurjoka:
- Carina Pusch repeatedly speaks about “the victim narrative” and a “victim role.” Shurjoka sees herself as a victim of a hate campaign. At the same time, she is often accused of portraying herself as a victim while also being a perpetrator.
- She further explains that after a while, one can predict who will receive a “callout” next, and that narcissistic individuals will quickly turn against oneself. In Shurjoka’s case, it is observed that even people from her environment are not safe from criticism.
- Carina Pusch emphasized that covert narcissism often only becomes recognizable when one is close to the person. Outwardly, these individuals present themselves positively and are characterized by social engagement. Shurjoka is politically engaged and was awarded the German Computer Game Award in 2023 for it.
These parallels give reason to suspect that it is no coincidence that Pusch brought up this topic over the weekend.

Proclamation of the “GirlzClub”
The Twitch streamer Lehrenfrau and Carina Pusch posted a joint photo as “GirlzClub.” This is presumably a reference to the “Boys Club” of the opinion blogger KuchenTV (via X). This term has established itself as a coalition of male influencers involved in the conflict with Shurjoka and standing on the opposite side of the conflict.
The photo seems to stem from September 14 when the two streamed together on Twitch and called themselves the “GirlzClub.”
Who is Lehrenfrau?
Lehrenfrau is a teacher who is also active as an influencer on TikTok and Twitch. She is also engaged in victim support for the Weißer Ring. In June 2024, she began showing proximity to blogger KuchenTV on X.
In August, Lehrenfrau interrupted a reaction to a video from KuchenTV after Shurjoka made critical comments on Discord about Lehrenfrau engaging with a women’s protection association while simultaneously participating in a hate campaign against a woman (via Rocket Beans Forum).
In early September, a public dispute once again arose between Lehrenfrau and Shurjoka due to different experiences both had with stalking (via X)
Lehrenfrau announces she will address allegations against her
Lehrenfrau also announced a stream to address the allegations against her. This took place on September 21 at 6:30 PM and attracted an average of more than 1,000 viewers, a peak for the streamer (via X, SullyGnome).
Shurjoka writes on Discord about her friendship with Carina Pusch
On her Discord server, Shurjoka addressed Lehrenfrau’s stream. She only learned that Carina had felt their friendship was one-sided and had therefore cut off contact with her.
She admits that due to her own mental strain, she may not have been a good friend but cannot understand why this was not clarified directly with her. Instead, she now has to learn of these allegations through a person who would participate in cyberbullying against her.

Gronkh provokes with soup
Gronkh posted on X from a vacation in Japan with a reference to a statement from Shurjoka. The streamer had accused him of his remarks about the conflict between Scurrows and her being “peak misogyny,” the “pinnacle of misogyny.”
Gronkh shared a picture of a soup bowl with the words “Peak Miso Soup!!”
What does Gronkh have to do with this?
Gronkh received criticism on Twitter/X for his stance on the game Hogwarts Legacy and on the Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. However, he received much support on Twitch from his fans. Shurjoka stated later that, thanks to the support, it was not a real shitstorm.
Gronkh had criticized this statement from Shurjoka in August 2023 and accused “her side” of lying (via YouTube). He humorously dismissed the accusation of misogyny in his stream.
Gronkh was one of the first major Let’s Players on German YouTube and is a part of many viewers’ childhoods, as well as being a role model for other content creators.
Lehrenfrau receives Twitch ban
On the evening of September 22, Lehrenfrau’s Twitch account was banned. The ban was attributed to the so-called “Shurjoka bubble.” Numerous users suspect that “Meppo161” from Shurjoka’s environment is behind the ban.
The Twitch streamer AlphaKevin had looked at statements from Meppo in a video, which Lehrenfrau had reacted to. It is theoretically possible that a DMCA strike occurred due to the content shown in the video (via X). However, this is not evidenced.
Generally, copyright strikes among Twitch streamers are extremely frowned upon. There is a kind of unspoken agreement that one can react to others’ content since – the idea is – everyone benefits from it. Strikes on reaction content are seen as an attack on one’s livelihood and abuse of the DMCA system.
Even after the weekend, new developments are emerging almost every minute.

Shurjoka claims that Lehrenfrau’s ban is not related to her
On X, Shurjoka distanced herself from the ban. She stated that she had mostly not been at home over the weekend and neither she nor anyone from her team would be behind the ban.
Meppo also claims to have become a target of swatting due to the public animosity (via X).
The ban of Lehrenfrau is now being discussed particularly sharply, as there has recently been a ban of the opinion blogger AlphaKevin. The ban is related to a DMCA strike. Through this ban, AlphaKevin benefited and was able to see growth as a content creator on YouTube and Twitch.
