Most of the time, the throne of the Steam Charts remains untouched, and CS:GO stays at the top spot with its microtransactions. However, a co-op shooter managed to temporarily reach the 1st place on Steam in the USA, even before its actual release.
What happened? Remnant 2 is set to release tomorrow but has already generated good PR, as the co-op loot shooter temporarily knocked the giant CS:GO off the throne of the Steam Charts in the USA. CS:GO is back on top now, but Remnant 2 still holds a very good second place worldwide.
This success is very impressive, as unlike CS:GO, which makes its revenue primarily through microtransactions as a Free to Play
game, Remnant 2 is a €50 game, making it even a bit cheaper than other releases. Nevertheless, the game managed to rank so high on the revenue-based list.

How is the game being rated so far? Many reviews have also appeared for the game, and it starts with solid 80 points on Metacritic. Mein-MMO author Benedict Grothaus has also had the chance to play the game and it has left a positive impression.
The viewers on Twitch also seem to have a great interest in the game. Currently – as of July 24, 2023, at 11:46 AM – it has 22,800 viewers. Considering that the game releases tomorrow, this is a remarkable success and speaks to a high potential for success upon full release.
