A new single-player city-building game is coming to Steam soon that many probably don’t have on their radar. Gord, a town manager, lets you build your own village in a dark atmosphere reminiscent of Diablo.
What kind of game is this? In Gord, you take on the responsibility of a village in a dark environment built around Slavic mythology. Your task is to keep your residents happy, expand your village, complete quests, and safely navigate your residents through exploration tours.
But beware, many dreadful monsters roam the lands. You must be careful not to lead your village to ruin. Although the game is not from Blizzard, the setting and graphics bear striking similarities to Diablo.

This is what makes Gord special: In Gord, the safety of your residents is a key aspect of the game. You must continue to expand your village and ensure that your people are satisfied and safe. To do this, you can build various facilities.

Defensive structures, as well as baths and other monuments can be built. They ensure that residents can be retrained as fighters and can relax after their expeditions.
Gord also emphasizes a lot of freedom, as your residents are not doomed to remain in their roles after training. If you need more archers, you can retrain your axe fighters at any time. However, keep in mind the skills your people already possess. The higher they are in combat, for example, the more effective and deadly they will fight.
Your careful selection will benefit you during various expeditions in quests and simple looting. You will encounter many monsters, humans, or animals that want to get you. You can then either defeat them strategically in battle or even annihilate them with spells.
In the game, you follow a single-player story that is divided into several chapters. However, you can also create a custom scenario. In this, you can set weather conditions, available POIs, a goal, and other modifiers. As you can see, there is much to do in Gord, and you are the boss of the whole story.
When will Gord be released? Unfortunately, that is not known yet. The release timeframe was targeted for 2022. Whether that plan will change or when exactly the title will appear on Steam is still unknown.
