In Borderlands 3, the developers announced the roadmap for the upcoming months – and it is quite impressive. Fans and players are excited.
The community will soon grow: At PAX East, Borderlands 3 had a lot to showcase. It kicked off with the Steam release for Borderlands 3, which will likely cause the community to gain several players in two weeks. After all, many players have been waiting for the loot shooter to no longer be exclusive to the Epic Game Store.
But even players who have been around in the Borderlands for a while can look forward to the next few months. The game brings a lot of content filled with chaos, but also a lot of fun.
This is happening in the next 3 months in Borderlands 3
The story continues: In Borderlands 3, you have long reached the endgame and you have already fully explored the Moxxi DLC? Then in March, you’ll get more story content: The second DLC “Guns, Love & Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock” brings new locations, weapons, and fan-favorite Gaige into the game. The announcement has already caused excitement,
- “My goosebumps have goosebumps, I’m so excited,” said Reddit user Nevertoolatetogame looking forward to the dark DLC.
- “I am really looking forward to it. Wainwright & Hammerlock had a great story in the main game (…) and I liked their camaraderie & partnership (…). Plus, Gaige is back, she looks great,” says user Goldfishie17.
You can find a first impression of the DLC here in the trailer:
But the DLC isn’t the only thing coming in the next few months. There will be a lot of new content that will be completely free unlike “Guns, Love & Tentacles”.

Mayhem 2.0 and more
Complete chaos in April: In April, Borderlands 3 will receive the Mayhem Mode 2.0. And it will not just be a new difficulty level, but will change the Mayhem system. This time, it seems that not only damage modifiers will be introduced, but totally crazy things like giant heads or lava floors.
Randy Pitchford mentioned over 25 new modifiers that will likely turn the game upside down. And that’s not all: The new Mayhem mode will have 10 levels! So, those who haven’t had enough with Mayhem 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be looking forward to a completely new challenge.
- “Mayhem 2.0 sounds exactly like what I wanted. Giant Head Mode? The Floor is Lava?! Over 25 such modifiers?!?! 10 levels of Mayhem?!?!?!”, user A_Little_Quarky can hardly believe.
- “I honestly look forward to it just as much as the DLC. M4 gets boring quickly. No challenge, it’s just a matter of the right equipment,” says user Critical_Switch
Even Mayhem 2.0 is not everything in April: There will be a new event where you have to take down cartels and secure event gear. And in May, the “Guardian Takedown” is also on the agenda. Those who have already completed the Maliwan Takedown can get an idea of how difficult it might be, especially when you add another 10 levels of chaos on top.
- “They are really doing a great job with this game, releasing updates almost every month. Even if it’s just a small event, it still means they care about the game,” is a user impressed.
Finally, DLCs 3 and 4 will also come this year – and further updates like before are also to be expected. It looks like Borderlands 3 is far from finished!
By the way, there will also be a Borderlands movie. Will it be as crazy as the games?
