Call of Duty: Warzone has a new anti-cheat system. RICOCHET is supposed to clean up where its predecessors have failed and has already shown some success. According to fans, the system seems to work well – but not everyone can truly enjoy it.
What is this new system? The new anti-cheat system RICOCHET has been in the game since Season 1 of Vanguard/Warzone and has been active in Germany since December 15. It is supposed to monitor multiple areas simultaneously and make life difficult for cheaters.
Cheaters have been a problem for the Call of Duty series for many years. The games are considered particularly vulnerable to cheaters using aimbots, wallhacks, and more, ruining the fun for honest players. Warzone, being a free-to-play game, is especially affected.
So far, the flood of cheaters could not be contained by the old systems. The problem seems to be slowly resolving – fans agree, as RICOCHET has proven to be highly effective:
This is what players say: On the subreddit for Warzone, one of the currently largest threads is the experience report on RICOCHET. User Chef-Aldo calls it an “overwhelming success” and other users agree.
It seems to be working, although RICOCHET still requires numerous attempts to recognize and punish cheaters. However, that is still better than not being able to get rid of them at all.
According to fans, the system still seems to have some difficulties with wallhacks. However, players currently see a larger problem.

Fewer cheaters, but not everyone can enjoy that
What is the catch? Even if RICOCHET seems to help, there are currently problems with Warzone itself. thing85 writes: “RICOCHET seems to work. It’s just a shame that most of us can’t really enjoy it.”
This receives a lot of agreement from users and comments with similar reports. Fans are likely referring to several things that aren’t working properly in Warzone right now:
- new updates cause bugs, during the holidays Warzone was “a wreck full of bugs”
- with the new map Caldera, Warzone feels “dead”
- the special Christmas modes aren’t really good, the monsters are far too strong
- new weapons from Vanguard turn out to be really overpowered with the right setups
Is it really that bad? Keep in mind that complaints on Reddit often do not reflect the views of the majority. Fans often complain while those without issues simply play. This can distort the picture somewhat, even though Warzone is currently not functioning flawlessly for all players.
