A new anime based on Tomb Raider will start on Netflix in October. A new trailer shows why it might be worth watching it in English, especially for Marvel fans.
A few days ago, Netflix uploaded a new trailer for the anime series “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.” With this, the streaming service finally announced a release date. Starting from October 10, 2024, fans can accompany the young archaeologist on new adventures.
What does the trailer show? Temples, motorcycles, and a bow. The new trailer brings everything you would probably expect from Tomb Raider. The story of the anime picks up after the recent Tomb Raider trilogy and thus follows the younger Lara Croft on new adventures.
In the trailer, you see the archaeologist in various situations. It is clear that a lot of action awaits you in the anime. A temple full of lava is shown, or jumps from an airplane into deep gorges or off a moving motorcycle. Just the typical action one is used to from the young woman.
What are the reactions? Just the images alone should excite any Tomb Raider fan for more. In the comments under the trailer (via YouTube), fans particularly praise the English voiceover of Lara.

Although the trailer doesn’t provide information about the German voiceover, perhaps Lara’s English voice could convince you to watch the anime in that version. She is voiced by actress Hayley Atwell. She is known, among other things, for her role in the MCU as Peggy Carter.
For many fans, this seems to have been exactly the right choice. “Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft – that’s a perfect voice casting,” writes a user in their comment. Indeed, it seems that every second comment praises the casting and describes the actress as the perfect voice for Lara Croft.
In the trailer itself, you can hardly hear much of her work as Lara. At least you do not get any spoken words from her yet. Nevertheless, fans seem more than sure that her voice fits perfectly. Checking out the English version in October to find out for yourself could definitely be worthwhile.
For many, Lara Croft is a true childhood heroine. The protagonists of Sailor Moon have also accompanied many anime fans through their childhood. However, why you can still watch the anime today can be found here: 5 reasons why you can still enjoy Sailor Moon without worry today.
