Ex World Online is a new indie MMORPG developed by people who prefer to play MMORPGs themselves. They promise a deep gaming experience with various races, classes, and even the ability to build your own kingdoms.
What kind of game is this exactly? Ex World Online will be free-to-play and promises a shop that does not rely on pay-to-win or pay-to-convenience. It features colorful, stylized anime graphics in Unreal Engine 5 and promises that both PvE and PvP fans will feel at home.
- During character creation, you will have the choice of humans, werewolves, and vampires. The choice of race will not affect your relations with other players, so there are no factions you are bound to.
- At the start of the beta, you should have a selection of 8 classes, with more than 18 classes planned at release. There will be a Holy Trinity of tank, healer, and DPS.
- For PvE fans, there will be solo dungeons, group instances, and hardcore raids.
- PvP players will be offered instanced arenas and territorial battles in the open world. You should be able to conquer cities with your guild and build entire kingdoms. Politics, intrigue, and drama will play a role. However, those who wish can also travel alone as an outcast and secretly pillage the great kingdoms.
- There will also be 14 different life skills, including crafting, fishing, and cooking, as well as bounty hunting and husbandry – breeding your own animals.
The combat system combines action and tab-targeting. With many attacks, you need to aim yourself, but there are also abilities that will definitely hit enemies. The developers themselves refer to it as a “hybrid system.”
When will the game be released? Ex World Online has been in development since October 6, 2020, and started in pre-alpha in December 2022. There is no date for the start of the regular alpha, in which you can invest, and no official release date has been shared yet.

Who is behind the game? Z House Studios is an indie developer that, according to LinkedIn, employs between 11 and 50 people. They are all said to be passionate MMORPG players who have come together to develop their own title.
The description reads:
We all share an unwavering love for the MMORPG genre and a burning desire to contribute to the creation of the next big gaming adventure that will captivate the hearts and minds of players around the world.
We are determined to explore new paths in the MMORPG world, push the boundaries of innovation, and redefine what it truly means to develop games “for gamers, by gamers.”
The most popular games in the company are Black Desert, Final Fantasy XIV, and WoW. On Twitter, they have also expressed several times their negative views on NFTs, which will definitely not be part of the MMORPG.
How is the studio financed? Currently, it is financed through its own private funds. These are intended to ensure the creation of a playable version. Afterwards, they will rely on their own shop, an optional subscription, and backer packages for the alpha.
Those who wish can spend between 50 and 100 euros to gain guaranteed access to the alpha, titles, Discord roles, and other small bonuses. The optional subscription provides free coins for the real money shop, discounts in the shop, and a checkmark next to your name in the game.
