Good-natured store owner is haunted by the past
What is Sakamoto Days about? The story revolves around Taro Sakamoto, a former legendary hitman who retired from his profession after marrying and the birth of his daughter to lead a peaceful life as a store owner.
However, it is not easy for him to leave his past behind, as he comes under the radar of enemies who want to eliminate him and have placed a hefty bounty on his head.
Together with his former colleague Shin, who can read minds, the now overweight Sakamoto must spend his daily life as a simple store owner fending off assassins and defending himself against numerous surprise attacks.
Why is the anime so popular? Sakamoto is quite an unusual protagonist: a former top killer who now leads a peaceful life as an overweight store owner. Despite his unassuming appearance, he is incredibly strong and agile, leading to many surprising and humorous situations.
Additionally, he strictly adheres to the family code that his wife Aoi has established with him. He is not allowed to kill – otherwise, there will be a divorce!
