New action RPG on Steam reminiscent of Bloodborne with guns and a hard-hitting metal soundtrack – Beta starting soon

At the Summer Game Fest, a new Soulslike was announced that recalls Bloodborne with firearms and features a catchy metal soundtrack.

What game is it? Mortal Shell II, the sequel to the title of the same name, will be released in 2026. It is an action RPG with a ruthless combat system, as known from Soulslike games. Mortal Shell II is set to be released for Steam, PS5, and Xbox.

The game is a standalone sequel and follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, promising to make the battles even faster and more merciless.

The trailer features various warriors with different weapons battling against monstrous and gigantic opponents reminiscent of Doom and classic Soulslikes. Weapons range from classic swords to axes to firearms. All accompanied by a hard-hitting metal sound.

Take control of fallen warriors

What can you expect in the game? You will take on the role of a Harbingers – a being that must reclaim the stolen eggs of the Undermether now ruthlessly guarded by grotesque and dangerous creatures.

You can take control of the corpses of fallen warriors. Throughout the ravaged world, you will find their remains and can harness their power and master their abilities. You can adapt them to your own preferred combat style and build the perfect character.

The game offers an open world connected by wounded paths. If you stray from them and face the dangers that lurk there, you can score new warriors, deep story elements, and powerful loot.

The world offers you various biomes and over 60 different dungeons that present you with challenging trials. Unlike its predecessor, Mortal Shell II does away with traditional stamina bars and instead relies on dynamic execution maneuvers.
