The new action movie from Amazon Prime Video titled Road House is a massive success and even set a platform record.
What kind of movie is Road House? It is a remake of the cult classic film of the same name from 1989 starring Patrick Swayze. In the new version, you can watch Jake Gyllenhaal as he takes down numerous opponents.
What is Road House about? It is about UFC fighter Elwood Dalton, who works as a bouncer at a beach club and gets involved in brutal fights.
The film was released on March 21, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video, quickly became a huge hit on the platform, and even set an internal record.

How successful is Road House? The Hollywood Reporter references statements from Amazon. According to their reports, Road House had the largest international film launch of an Amazon Original.
A proud 50 million viewers have already seen the film on the streaming platform since its release on March 21, 2024.
However, it should also be noted that Amazon does not specify exactly what counts as “viewed,” so whether there is a certain formula like in the Netflix rankings, or if just a few minutes watched are counted.
