A new action game for the PS5 entices with fantasy knights in a devastated London and a voice that many of you may recognize.
What game is this about? We are talking about Tides of Annihilation. The action game was announced at Sony’s State of Play 2025 with a trailer and is being developed by Eclipse Glow Games – a new studio from China that is also backed by Tencent.

“Stellar Blade” with Fantasy and a Voice from Baldur’s Gate 3
What does the trailer show? Tides of Annihilation plunges you into modern London, but the city has been devastated after an invasion from beyond this world. The new London consists of overgrown ruins, rubble, and debris – it is a dark, dirty, and truly desolate place.
You take on the role of Gwendolyn: The last survivor of London and owner of a mysterious power that allows her to summon the knights of the round table. The protagonist is voiced by Jennifer English – the voice of Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Sword-fighting action and characters that could have stepped out of a model magazine: Tides of Annihilation is already strongly reminiscent of Stellar Blade, but with fantasy instead of sci-fi. The whole is combined with designs reminiscent of Elden Ring and colossal knights that you will also fight against.
What are the reactions to the trailer like? For many, Tides of Annihilation was the highlight of this year’s State of Play – at least that is evident from the comments under the trailer on YouTube. Both the gameplay and the design have impressed so far, and there is also enthusiasm about the voice of the main character.
For which platforms will the game be released? Since it was announced at the State of Play, the game will naturally be available for the PS5. Players on Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) will also not end up empty-handed. The release date for Tides of Annihilation has yet to be determined.
Did the developers of Tides of Annihilation consciously take inspiration from Stellar Blade? That wouldn’t be a bad role model, after all, the game was very well received and successful.
