Fans of the MMORPG Neverwinter should mark March 15 on their calendars, as on that day the new module “The Maze Engine” will be released, bringing back some older dungeons.
The story of the new module tells of the Maze Engine, a powerful artifact capable of changing all of reality. Baphomet, the Prince of Beasts, seeks to find this machine to construct a new reality in which the city of Neverwinter is destroyed. You will set out together with your friends and famous heroes from the Forgotten Realms to thwart Baphomet’s plan.
Visit new versions of older dungeons
During your adventures, you will also explore older dungeons that you have visited before in the game. This includes Castle Never, which is now infested by Orcus, the Demon Prince of Undeath. He has resurrected all boss enemies and even the fallen heroes within the castle.
The Caves of Karrundax, the hideout of the pirate king, the Cloak Tower, and the Frozen Heart are also among the dungeons you will get to revisit – now in an updated form. New challenges await you there. However, the developers have stated that this time they have paid close attention to allow for significant solo play as well. Your level will also be automatically increased to 70 when you enter these dungeons.
Get heroes by your side!
Decause you can enlist legendary heroes like Drizzt Do’Urden, Minsc, or Makos to your side and experience adventures together with them. In creating the quests, care has been taken to incorporate the heroes as faithfully as possible to their original portrayals. This time, best-selling author R.A. Salvatore will not contribute any adventures, but the other authors are all making an effort to treat his hero Drizzt appropriately.
Your mounts can be customized better and through the new matchmaking system, you will be able to find a suitable group more easily and effectively. By the way, the release date of March 15 applies only to the PC version of The Maze Engine. Neverwinter players on Xbox One will have to wait a little longer.
