New post-apocalyptic MMO “Next Day” celebrates its Steam release

“Next Day” is a mix of Fallout, Escape from Tarkov and MMO. The post-apocalyptic game has now released on Steam, and the developers have added a lot of new content and fixes in recent months.

What is Next Day: Survival about? You find yourself in a fictional, Eastern European city. A toxic fog has made large parts of the country uninhabitable, and you are trying to survive here. To do this, you embark on a search for resources and weapons. You develop your character with skills, where crafting plays a significant role.

You fight against NPCs and other players; PvP is an important component of the game. Next Day is described as a multiplayer survival game with RPG elements. The press release even mentions a “full-scale MMORPG.”

This is what you can expect in Next Day: 

• Various game modes – Single player, PvE, Last Survivor, PvP
• Large, open world
• Firefights, with a selection of various guns and other weapons
• Factions with a ranking system, each with their own advantages and disadvantages
• Skill system
• Various transportation options
• Faction-related stories and quests
• Comprehensive health system for the character

A lot has changed in Next Day since Early Access, including: 

• Over 1,000 bugs and issues fixed
• 4 new locations added: Bunker A65, Primorye, Dead Marshes, and Catacombs
• 32 clothing items added
• 14 new weapons added
• 12 new animals added, including bosses
• 10 new NPCs, some of which are part of the main quest
• 43 quests added
• Graphics and visual effects such as lighting overhauled

Next Day’s Early Access received mixed reviews

The Early Access version of Next Day is currently rated “balanced,” mainly due to some bugs. 66% of 5,369 Steam reviews rated the game positively. Until May 28, you can purchase Next Day at a discount on Steam for 7.64 Euros. In Early Access, it was offered for 8.99 Euros.
