Only a few days remain until the Content Patch 4.2 of Final Fantasy XIV, which goes live on January 30, bringing with it not only the continuation of the story but also new dungeons, raids, and primal battles.
Today, Square Enix released several screenshots of the three additional new armor sets, hairstyles, and companions from the patch on the official promo page.
This is what the new armors look like
The armor sets are divided into three different categories:
- Top-level gear from the Omega: Sigmascape raid
- Armor obtained through the new Allagan stones of deceit that can be upgraded
- Craftable armor that can hold more than 2 materia
While the designs of the Omega and stone armors are new, the craftable armor looks like the gear that could be looted in the 24-player raid “The Creator”.
At the players’ request, these can now be dyed.
Fashion is the true endgame
But what would a Final Fantasy XIV patch be without cosmetics? For fashion lovers, there will be two new hairstyles available from stylist Jandelaine starting January 30, which will also be worn by the NPCs from the story missions.
Additionally, there is a new emote that will likely be obtained at the end of the main story missions.
The cute little bonus on top are the two new companions: ferret and white tiger. How to obtain them is not yet known.
