In two days, the live-action series of Avatar – The Last Airbender starts on Netflix. Now, a final trailer shows once again what fans can expect.
When does the live-action series start? Avatar – The Last Airbender premieres on February 22, 2024, in its live-action format on Netflix. The series follows the plot of the first season, or rather the first book “Water”, based on the original animated series.
A final trailer now showcases a few new scenes that bring tears to fans:
What do the fans say? The first reactions in the comments (via YouTube) to the trailer show that fans are eagerly anticipating the series’ premiere in two days. While there were some concerned voices beforehand about the series deviating from the original in some points, fans seem to be very excited nonetheless:

Due to some changes, voices among fans have recently been raised suggesting that the live-action series deviates too much from the original. Nevertheless, it seems that fans are still willing to give the series a chance. User melii01 even has so much trust in the series that there are already hopes for adaptations of books 2 and 3.
What does the trailer show? The trailer actually showcases a few new scenes that fans should immediately recognize. Overall, this trailer seems to display some moments that definitely caused heartache in the original series.
For instance, you can see Aang visiting the Southern Air Temple for the first time after his awakening, only to find the ruins of his old home there. A small snippet shows Sokka standing before a pond, staring into the sky. Fans should quickly recognize that Yue could also experience the same fate in the live-action series as in the original.
Additionally, there is plenty of action offered, and you can also catch a glimpse of Avatar Kyoshi in the Avatar state. Visually, the Netflix series already has a lot to offer, and fans might find hope for a redemption compared to the last live-action film in the battle scenes and effects.
