Successful start with great potential
The first part of Season 3 of Bridgerton was released on May 13, 2024, on Netflix, and the first week was really successful. Netflix’s numbers show that the 3rd season was watched 45.1 million times in the first week. Interestingly, Seasons 1 and 2 have been in the Top 10 since May 6, because people wanted to refresh their memory of the series before the start of the 3rd season.
With 45.1 million viewers, Bridgerton Season 3 is the most successful English series launch for Netflix in 2024. Even hits like 3 Body Problem, Avatar The Last Airbender, and Baby Reindeer do not come close to this launch. Just behind Bridgerton is the launch of the series Fool Me Once with 37.1 million viewers in the first week.
While the other series have a higher total viewer count and viewing time; Bridgerton Season 3 is released in two parts, with the second part not coming until June 13. Looking at the longevity of the previous seasons, the success of the 3rd season seems predictable.
According to Netflix itself, the first season of Bridgerton is even the fourth most successful English Netflix series of all time, behind Wednesday, Stranger Things 4, and Dahmer.
