In the United States, a lawyer series from 2011 is still so popular that it allows new productions from Netflix, like Lincoln Lawyer, to pass by. The series “Suits” has even broken its own record twice in a row.
Which series is being talked about? We are talking about Suits. The lawyer series is so popular according to Nielsen that even the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer from 2022 cannot surpass it. In the USA, the series has even broken its own record. In the week from July 3 to July 9, 2023, Americans spent a total of 3.7 billion minutes watching Suits. This is an increase of about 17 percent compared to the previous week, when the series first broke its record with 3.1 billion minutes.
The figures apply to both Netflix and the streaming service Peacock. On Netflix, the series has been available in the USA only since summer 2023, which may explain its great popularity. According to the tracking site for viewer numbers, Season 1 was watched the most.
This likely means that another record could be waiting if fans in the USA catch up with the later seasons. Suits consists of 9 seasons.

What is Suits about? The protagonist Michael “Mike” Ross wants to get money for his sick grandmother through an illegal drug deal. But by a stupid coincidence, he suddenly finds himself in a job interview at a law firm.
There, his talent as a lawyer is recognized, and top lawyer Harvey Specter hires him. Throughout the nine seasons, Mike repeatedly finds himself in tricky situations because his past and his lack of legal training create problems.
In the series, Meghan Markle also appears until Season 7. Her reason for leaving was her engagement to Prince Harry. After her wedding, Meghan Markle now holds the title Duchess of Sussex and is a member of the British royal family.
Suits leaves other lawyer series behind
Although Suits is from 2011, it still leaves series like The Lincoln Lawyer and Better Call Saul behind. Better Call Saul started in 2015 in the USA, while The Lincoln Lawyer only began in 2022. Nevertheless, the two series cannot compete with the competition.
In Germany, the trend is actually the opposite. Here, Suits, according to Flixpatrol, only ranks in the 50s, while The Lincoln Lawyer secures a spot in the top 10 at number 7.
The fact that Suits has broken its own record already hints at where the series stands in the USA: In the United States, Suits is ranked number 1 this year. The Lincoln Lawyer, on the other hand, is comfortably sitting at number 6.
