More and more established Korean publishers of PC MMORPGs are setting their sights on the mobile sector.
In South Korea, the future belongs to mobile gaming, and more and more publishers seem to believe this. Some have already removed “classic PC MMORPGs” from their portfolio to withdraw from the PC market and focus on mobile games.
Thus, some titles that have just been released or are still in beta here in the West suddenly find themselves without a home market: Like Echo of Soul or Devilian.
The Korean MMO giant NCSoft (known here as the publisher of Aion, WildStar, and Guild Wars 2) sees this trend and is getting actively involved, looking to benefit from the Western market, generally has its eyes on the West.
In the USA, in California, a large “Mobile Studio” has now been established and named “Iron Tiger.” 100 people are supposed to work there, with hiring occurring gradually in 2016. 3 development teams are to develop new mobile titles there, based on existing NCSoft brands. A mobile publishing group will also find its place there.
The studio is located in San Mateo, between Silicon Valley and San Francisco. From this location, NCSoft hopes to recruit excellent talent.
Lineage Eternal is considered NCSoft’s largest and most important mobile project.
