The Korean publisher NCSoft recently presented the line-up of upcoming games. Among them are only mobile games, and half of them revolve around Blade & Soul. However, the long-awaited Project TL was not mentioned.
The new line-up from NCSoft: In a few weeks, the Korean gaming fair G-Star 2018 will start. Therefore, the major publisher NCSoft has now presented its new line-up of upcoming games at the annual NC Media Day.
However, those expecting new titles for PC might be disappointed.
5 new mobile games presented
NCSoft presented five new titles, all designed for mobile devices:
- Aion 2
- Blade & Soul 2
- Blade & Soul M
- Blade & Soul S
- Lineage 2 M
The information about Aion 2 and Blade & Soul 2 has been covered in this article:
Blade & Soul M – The original game on mobile
If you still want to play the original Blade & Soul, you can likely catch up in Blade & Soul M soon. This mobile game appears to be a rework of the original for mobile devices. It is said to use the Unreal 4 engine and even have new features:
- New combat system
- Changing environment with weather effects
- A new story system with branches based on your decisions. The story will continue as you wish.
Blade & Soul S – Prequel as hero collection game
The next Blade & Soul game from NCSoft is a hero collection game in chibi style. It takes place before the events of part 1. You travel across the lands collecting well-known characters from the franchise, including heroes and villains such as Jinsoyun, Poharan, and Master Hong.
Unlike typical hero collection games, the battles do not take place in dedicated stages, but in the open world.
Lineage 2 M – Part 2 for mobile
After the success of the old Lineage as a mobile version Lineage M, NCSoft now wants to bring the popular second part as a mobile version as well. Lineage 2 M, which should not be confused with Lineage 2 Revolution, aims to offer the largest, continuous open world of all mobile titles. A total of 100 million square meters of open world are to be made available.
Additionally, there will be a large mass PvP system, all 31 Lineage classes, and a new combat system where the terrain will play a role.
What’s missing?
However, among the planned games by NCSoft was one game absent. The also highly anticipated Project TL, the next “real” Lineage game, which is supposed to come for the PC.
The game is supposed to emerge from the ruins of the failed project Lineage Eternal and would be the only PC title that NCSoft is currently working on. The game is actually supposed to release in 2019, but so far there has been no news from NCSoft regarding this.
Not only NCSoft is increasingly focusing on mobile:
