The Korean MMO giant NCsoft (Blade & Soul, Lineage) is planning a new MMO. Some think it could be Aion 2.
NCsoft has something new in the works. We only know the name “Project A2” so far. In Korea, they often refer to unannounced MMOs as “Project”. These are working titles: Project M was once Blade and Soul, Bless Online was called Project B and the joint “child” of the creators of Black Desert and Tera has received some kind of project code name. It was formerly known as Project Exa, now it seems to be Project W.
From NCSoft we hear: “Project A2” has completed the planning phase.
As we currently don’t know anything more about Project A2, some speculate: Well, if it’s called “A2”, then it will probably be a sequel to a well-known title. Lineage … they just have that. Blade and Soul is still relatively fresh and alive. It could maybe be Aion that is getting a sequel.
So everything is pretty shaky. Aion originates from 2008 (Korea), 2009 (USA, Europe) and is a Free2Play MMORPG. Most know it as “that MMORPG with the wings.” In Europe, it has been published by Gameforge since 2012.
