Who is Christian Picciolini? Christian Picciolini is a former member of several racist groups. At the age of 14, he was “recruited” and directly experienced how recruitment worked in such groups. Nowadays, he explains at various events how racists and Nazis operate to lure susceptible youth and indoctrinate them with their worldview.
What does Picciolini claim? He reports from his time in the “White Supremacists Groups” and explains how they searched for new recruits for their movement. Back then, they would visit forums where people sought help for depression or mental illnesses. They dropped hints about their racist ideologies and once they had their targets hooked, they promised them “paradise on earth” that they would experience if they embraced the racist ideals.
Fortnite, Minecraft, and Call of Duty as recruitment offices: Nowadays, they are not only active in such forums but also specifically target video games to find potential followers. Picciolini explicitly mentioned games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Call of Duty.
