Recently, organic material was discovered on Mars. This is a groundbreaking discovery for science, but gamers think of something completely different: Doom and hell!
What happened on Mars? Currently, the Curiosity Rover is still zooming around Mars and collecting samples. One of them has recently excited NASA scientists. A rock that is billions of years old contained ancient organic material! So, something that may have once been alive!
While such a discovery is another step for NASA in the deeper exploration of space and extraterrestrial life, some gamers might already be on the lookout for a chainsaw…
What was the story of Doom again?
Here’s how it went in Doom: Shooter fans are certainly reminded of the story of the legendary shooter Doom by the find from the Curiosity Rover. Its latest incarnation was released in 2016 and impressed with particularly wild slaughtering orgies. In Doom, a Space Marine guns and slaughters his way through sheer hordes of hellish creatures.
They all come from a dimensional tear from a research base. And the cause of all these eerie experiments in Doom could possibly have also been the discovery of mysterious “things” on Mars.
Is hell on Earth now a threat?
It’s not that bad: NASA researchers soon explained that while the find is significant, the existence of organic substances does not necessarily mean that aliens live or have lived on Mars. Instead, organic material could also arise through non-biological methods.
Additionally, (yet) no hell portals have been observed on Mars or its moons Deimos and Phobos. So, you can put the chainsaw back in the toolbox for now…
