Do the Naga qualify as an allied race for World of Warcraft? Many fans are sure: With Battle for Azeroth, this will become reality!
When Blizzard announced at BlizzCon 2017 that there would be Allied Races in World of Warcraft, the excitement was huge. After exciting reveals like the Nightborne and Void Elves, questions arose: What other races will come?
Almost as quickly, demands came for specific species that should be playable. In addition to Murlocs, Furbolgs, or even Orcs from Draenor, which are actually supposed to come, there was another wish: Naga.
Naga will play a central role in Battle for Azeroth, as their leader Queen Azshara will make an appearance, get a new model, and will even be a raid boss.
Naga as an Allied Race – Possible or Delusion?
Many players hope that there is a splinter group of the Naga that renounces Azshara and the Old Gods to return to their roots instead.
Colleagues from wowhead jokingly imported the Naga into their model viewer, allowing them to dress the Naga in WoW armor. Even without additional effort from Blizzard, it looks relatively solid (see title image)!
The argument that “Naga are excluded because they can’t wear shoes” is only partially valid. After all, Draenei also usually (with a few exceptions) do not wear shoes, and Blizzard has used a simple trick: The shoes are not displayed. A similar treatment could also be possible for a cloak.
Greater problems may arise with the mount animations. But ultimately, simple restrictions could also be introduced here, meaning Naga could only use certain mounts.
What do you think of the idea? Would you like to see Naga as an allied race in World of Warcraft? Or are there already enough elf races, so we don’t need the “fish elves” as a playable race?
We reveal how you can unlock the allied races that already exist in this article.
