Bosses are the highlights of every raid or dungeon in MMOs. Some are so legendary that they stay in your memory forever. We want to know: Which boss did you struggle with the most?
Every MMO fan has had moments where they felt like they wanted to bite their keyboard or smash their mouse against the wall during a raid.
Then it was probably the ultra-hard boss’s fault. Whether the final boss was really that difficult, simply had serious bugs, or the players just couldn’t get it right is another question.
WildStar had the hardest boss fights!
In memory of WildStar: My personal highlight in boss fights was in WildStar. This colorful MMORPG by Carbine will unfortunately disappear soon, but its bosses will stay in my memory forever.
My favorite boss from WildStar: Basically, all bosses in WildStar were tough, but my personal favorite was “Forgemaster Trogun” from the Ruins of Kel Voreth.
And yes, other bosses were tougher, but I played that boss back in beta when it was still not clear how he worked and there were bugs and errors plaguing the gameplay. Therefore, my first victory over him is still fresh in my memory today.
The Bug Bosses of SWTOR
The most annoying boss thanks to bugs: I also found my personal nemeses in Star Wars: The Old Republic to be super hard. They were the two massive lizards Zorn and Toth from the raid “Explosive Conflict”.
The bosses themselves weren’t hard, you just needed to tank them well and ensure they didn’t get too close to each other.
But eternal bugs and poorly thought-out mechanics often ruined this fight. Even when we were clearly superior in item level, the high DPS output of the damage dealers often caused the creatures to break free from the tank.
Then they became so strong that they wiped us in seconds anyway. So the two are still my hardest boss fight.
