Today we want to know from you whether you play games already in beta or if you always wait for the full release.
There is basically no finished MMOs released before a large number of players had the opportunity to test the game. Especially extensive games like MMORPGs rely today on extensive beta testing. Only this way can bugs in the game be reliably found or the performance of the game be checked with large player masses.
But beta tests are not for everyone. Many players do not want to be used as free guinea pigs and expect a finished product. Other players are eager to participate in the development as early as possible. After all, how great would it be if some detail in the game would be changed because of your feedback?
Therefore, we want to know from you: Do you play beta versions when you have the opportunity? Or do you avoid a game until it has been officially released? Why or why not?
Cortyn says: Because of this job, it is hard for me to avoid beta versions of games when it comes to titles like World of Warcraft. But with WoW, I also enjoy being able to dive into the beta version. Due to the lower number of players on the beta servers and the lack of time pressure – after all, there is no pressing guild you need to catch up with – the beta experience often feels “purer” and more relaxed.

Above all, this helps me to already get a rough orientation about the game world – this often makes the release easier. If an area is overcrowded because players are clearly directed there by the quests, it can be helpful to know where you can alternatively complete tasks.
