In a new game on Steam, you participate in a deadly detective game between lambs and wolves – and you can try it for free before release.
Which game are we talking about? We mean Killer Inn, a game by Tactic Studios and Square Enix. The detective game is presented to you like a game show and culminates in battles reminiscent of what you might find in battle royale games.
Killer Inn currently offers a free beta for everyone who wants to try the game. If you participated in the first closed beta, you have automatic access to the new one. Alternatively, you can sign up via the game’s shop page on Steam.

24 players in a large castle full of murderers
What is the game about? You find yourself as one of 24 players in an opulently built castle. What you do there is not sightseeing: You are caught in a deadly detective game from which not everyone will escape alive.
The 24 participants per round are divided into two groups: wolves and lambs. Depending on which group you are assigned to, you pursue different goals.
- The goal of the wolves is to eliminate all lambs while remaining as undetected as possible.
- The lambs try to escape from the castle and not get caught by one of the wolves.
The catch: lambs do not know who is what – wolves do, however. Lambs play a detective game where they investigate clues to uncover the identity of the wolves.
As the wolves are gradually revealed, open fights occur more frequently. Wolves and lambs resort to a range of firearms and melee weapons. It suddenly gets hectic like in a battle royale – only that you are still fighting with your team for victory.
The game is only over when all wolves or all lambs are dead. Or the lambs succeed in escaping from the castle. A ship is ready for this, but the way there must first be opened with several keys.
When will the game be released? The developers have not yet announced a release date for Killer Inn.
