RockStar Games/2k: Red Dead Redemption 2
RockStar Games are the creators behind GTA V and a kind of forefather behind the “games as a service” madness of recent years. The online mode of Grand Theft Auto V will probably serve as a model for Red Dead Redemption 2 online.
Not much is known yet about the western adventure; a first release window has already been pushed back, likely to work more on the online mode.
Information regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to come soon. A reveal is scheduled for September 28. A release is planned for spring 2018. However, only for PS4 and Xbox One – there is no promise yet for PC.
Fans of the predecessor are looking forward to a western adventure with strong characters and a good single-player story.
However, it is also assumed that the online component will play an important role – whether RDR 2 will truly compete with Destiny or rather follow in the footsteps of its single-player predecessor remains to be seen.
The wild-west setting could bring a different direction to the genre.
