For players who are just starting with MU Legend, we summarize the most important tips and tricks in this beginner guide. We explain how to quest effectively and how to allocate your Soul Levels.
MU Legend has been available in open beta for a few days now, and you can participate for free. In this action RPG, you will find hack-and-slash combat and MMO elements like dungeons.
With our beginner guide, we want to make it easier for you to start in MU Legend.
The Beginning – Download and Create Character
To start with MU Legend, you first need to register and download the game for free. After successfully downloading, you will start the game and select one of the servers on which you want to begin your adventure. If you are playing with friends, you should agree on the same server so you can play together.

After that, you can create a character. Currently, there are four classes to choose from:
- Dark Lord – Tank
- Blader – Melee Damage Dealer
- Whisperer – Ranged Damage Dealer
- War Mage – Wizard
You can then visually customize your character with various hair colors, skin tones, hairstyles, and other options. When you’re finished with character customization, you’ll enter a tutorial. Here, you will get a taste of your class with strong equipment.
Now decide on a tactic (specialization) for your class and then fight your way through the tutorial. Which tactic you choose is up to you. The bonuses of the choices will be displayed for comparison. Depending on your play style, you can make a selection there. After the tutorial, you will enter the actual world of MU Legend.
Questing in MU Legend – Stay on Your Path
During the first quests, the basic functions of MU Legend will be shown to you:
- Accepting and turning in quests is fastest with the spacebar.
- You can skip text with a hotkey and focus entirely on questing if you want to be quick.
- If you don’t feel like walking yourself, right-click on the map to activate automatic walking.
To level up quickly, you should take as many quests as possible. Grinding by mindlessly killing monsters will slow you down. Quests are categorized into
- Yellow (Main Quest),
- Blue (Side Quest), and
- Purple (Events/Time-limited) categories.
However, make sure that you only solve quests that are on your way to the next main quest. If you have to run “back” to an old area that is not on your way to complete a quest, you should skip that quest.
For side quests, you shouldn’t take too long detours, but rather stay close to the main quests. This also goes for the pink, time-limited tasks.
Important enemies and objects for your missions will be color-coded on the minimap.
Use Your AOE Attacks to Level Up Quickly in MU Legend
A major advantage in MU Legend is that you start with AOE attacks right from the beginning. You should also use these to level up quickly.
So, gather many quest monsters together and defeat them simultaneously, instead of killing one monster after another.
Distributing Skill Points – What to Skill?
If you are just starting with MU Legend, there is not “one right way” to distribute skill points. You should generally take some time to feel the game and see what you enjoy.
Some players tend to invest their skill points from their Soul Levels into additional experience. This way, you can quickly reach the maximum character level (65). Once you reach level 65, you can reset and redistribute the points.
By the way, that’s not the end of the leveling fun. The new challenge is the Soul Level, which you can push up to level 500.
If you are dissatisfied with your class choice, creating a second character will give that character an additional experience boost until it reaches the level of your highest character.
Dungeons – Solo or in a Group
On your way through the various quest areas, you will frequently encounter dungeons. Some are related to quests that require completing a dungeon. The so-called field dungeons are categorized into “Normal”, “Epic”, and “Rift”. Additionally, you can choose the difficulty level you want to complete when entering. You can choose from 1 (easy) to 5 (hard).
A higher dungeon level gives you more experience and better loot chances – but also stronger enemies.
When you stand at a dungeon entrance and want to enter it, you can not only choose the difficulty. You also have the option to decide whether to tackle the instance as a group or solo. You can choose either Solo or, for example, automatic matching. However, it is usually more fun in a group!
Buy or Craft Equipment for Leveling? No!
For your leveling phase up to level 65, you should not craft any equipment in the game. You will waste materials that you might need later. You also do not need to buy items, as you will get enough weapons and equipment through quests and dungeons to play comfortably.
Whether items in your inventory are better than what you are currently wearing can be recognized by an arrow in the item icon. When you select the item, a green number will also appear in the preview window, indicating the improvement.
