Call of Duty: Vanguard has an incredibly powerful setup for the submachine gun MP40, which can send your opponents into respawn with just 2 shots. To benefit from the 2-shot kills, however, you need a headshot – or a shot to the knee.
The MP40 has been one of the most popular weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard since its release. This is partly because the submachine gun is available from the start. However, it is also due to its incredible strength.
Because the MP40 has a fierce setup in Vanguard that sends your enemies to your kill count after just 2 hits. We will show you how this works on MeinMMO.
Vanguard: OP setup of the MP40 halves the TTK
What kind of setup is this? The combination of 2 special attachments makes the MP40 an overwhelming tool in the multiplayer of Vanguard:
- Magazine: Short 8mm 32-round magazine
- Ammunition type: Hollow point
With the 8mm rounds, you get a high base damage of 46, and with the hollow point ammunition, you deal 54 damage to your enemy’s limbs. A shot to the knee, hand, or toe of the opponent is enough for you to only need one torso hit afterward.
Headshots do the job as well – the important thing is that a hit lands either on the head or the limbs of the opponent. Where the second shot lands does not matter.
The time-to-kill thus stands at 107 milliseconds. The hit to the knee therefore reduces the TTK by half (from 214 milliseconds). Up to a distance of nearly 15 meters, the high damage persists.

How does the setup play? Since many players usually aim for a headshot rather than a knee hit, this attachment combination plays out a bit unusually. Engage lower in your fights than usual.
Otherwise, this attachment combination plays extremely stable and easily. Even without the OP setup, the MP40 is therefore very popular and one of the weapons most commonly seen in the early weeks of Vanguard.
If you want to modify the MP a bit more, you should only keep the two ammunition attachments, but can modify everything else.

The setup has been known since the release but was temporarily overshadowed by the OP setup of the Type 100. This MP could also take down enemies with 2 hits and needed under 100 milliseconds for that. However, after the nerf to the Vital attachment, the MP40 is back in charge:

Will it stay like this? The attachment combination is way too strong, and a nerf is likely to come soon. However, there is still no announcement from the developers regarding this. So rock the nasty setup before it disappears.
