The Twitch streamer SDSocrates treated his viewers to a heartwarming moment in his Twitch stream. The reason was his mother, who hijacked the stream and left many viewers melted.
This is the situation: The streamer SDSocrates was just playing Halo 3 and was briefly away from the computer. While his viewers were watching a character that was not moving, the streamer’s mother came into view and sat down at his desk.
There, she created a moment that she thought would be terribly embarrassing for her son. However, many viewers were instead delighted by the mother. A clip is now making the rounds online.
Mom sings lullaby – viewers melt away
This is the clip: On Twitch, the video has nearly 200,000 views and was shared in the Livestream Fail subreddit:
The mother hijacked the stream and initially thanked all the viewers for their support. Then she says that she wants to entertain the viewers and starts singing “You Are My Sunshine” because she used to sing that to her son.
Now she looks into the chat and says: “He will kill me when he sees what I have done.”
She tells his viewers to please remind her son to make his bed and clean his room. After all, she still has to fulfill her motherly duties.
How is the clip received? Normally, it would probably be the ultimate punishment for hardened gamers if their mother suddenly appeared and sang an embarrassing children’s song. However, the video is extremely well-received and gives the small streamer a bit more popularity:
- Before the clip, SDSocrates had fewer than 100 followers and an average of 7 viewers
- After the clip, he gained 1,262 followers in his next stream and had an average of 100 viewers
On reddit, the user Wulkingdead summarizes the situation well: “Aww, this is one of those priceless moments where you think: ‘Oh God, Mom, please stop.’ And later in life, you look back and realize that your mother was the best mom ever, and you are so grateful that she was your mom.”
SDSocrates himself also commented on the action. He uploaded a clip to his Twitch channel titled “I cleaned my room. I love you, Mom.”
In it, the streamer thanks the newly gained viewers multiple times and even promotes one of his favorite streamers, TheEndBoss.
Not all streams go over that well: A Twitch channel that is currently facing criticism is that of the US Army. They have, among other things, already deleted undesirable questions and banned viewers.
